Happy & Sad post

kembang

kay, Im going to start this post with things that made me HAPPY this past few days. (maaf ya postnya ngga penting)

HAPPY REASONS:
1.) Alhamdulillaah, adek keterima di Padmanaba. Bangga sekali hehe :")
2.) Hari minggu kemaren, my family went to Semaraaaaang! yeaaaayyyyyy Meski cuma sehari doang karena cuma dateng kondangan, but it was soooo fun because I got to eat a lot. Hehehe. Kemaren di semarang bener2 a full day of eating, bahagia, soalnya I LOVE EATING & sangat sangat rakus (pernah juara 1 lomba makan mi waktu 17-an RT lho, No kidding). So I want to share some food pictures :D

- First I went to S2. Tempatnya is sooooo cool. Its like an intergrated eating square gitu, jadi ada japanese food, chinese, peranakan food, western, ada bakery, ada creamery juga.. Bikin panik... Karena literally menunya super banyak. Milih aja bingung. :s

outdoor seating

Bagus kan ya tempatnya? :D However pricing nya tergolong middle-up class tapi ngga yang bener2 nyekek.

Now food pictures :D
what's this? Bread??

aaah! It's bread bowl soup!

bye bye soupy

my order: volcano roll

NEXT!

- pelangi cafe (kalo ngga salah di jalan sisimangaraja?, kalo ada yang mau kesana coba cari sendiri) itu cafe kecil gitu, specialtynya ice cream sama chiffon cake super enak (dibawa pulang). Disana kita makan lagi (ofcourse).
Foto tempatnya:

kayaknya dulunya rumah

Now food pictures#2:

I really want to go back karena masih pengen nyoba banyak makanan. Oh, well there's always next time :D

Now the SAD part..... :(
This week I just really realized that I feel so weird when I'm chewing. Kalo ngunyah rasanya aneh, kayaknya gimanaaa gitu rahang sebelah kirinya. kalo angop juga, kalo ketawa lebar-lebar juga, dan ternyata after I asked my mom she said that maybe my left TMJ got a littleee bit dislocated! atau artinya sendi antara tengkorak dan mandibula agak mlengse
(ini gambar sendinya biar ngga bingung)
Jadi sekarang kalo mangap lebar2 ada bunyi "klak klak klak" gitu.... SEDIIIIIIIIIIIIH BANGET
Makan jadi ngga senyaman dulu, huhuuuhu yaudah kata Ibu sih di biarin aja, dibiasain aja, lama-lama juga biasa. Tapi tetep aja

SAD
:(

IM NOT DEAD! + MINI VACAY POST

Hello everybody!! Assalammualaikum,  I just wanna say that I am not dead hehe, tapi harus diakui kalau saya blogger yang sangat sangat sangat buruk dan nggak niat (last post: February 3rd 2011 wth?!) hehe, tapi yasudahlah ngga papa, karena kayaknya ngga ada yang baca jadi who cares right? (sedih)

SOOOO, I wanna share some things with you guys, jadi minggu lalu (may 29-june 4th) adalah momen yang cukup bisa dibilang langka, karena kampus saya LIBUR, yep L-I-B-U-R LIBUR!! (perlu diketahui kalo libur seminggu di kampus saya bisa dibilang miracle) and I was fortunate enough to have a mini vacation with my sister and my mom to Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. Wooot wooot!!!! I was there for 4 days 3 nights, and it was surprisingly fun. Jujur aja, saya ngga gitu banyak tau tentang vietnam kecuali dari the Amazing Race yang sering banget ke vietnam, jd saya cenderung underexpect, pokoknya dibayangan saya Vietnam is worse than Indonesia, negara berkembang gitu, penduduknya ngga bisa bahasa inggris, kotor, panas, masih tradisional banget, banyak ayam nyebrang di jalan2....dsb. But my short visit proved to me that, we should not underestimate a country solidly because your own assumptions, Vietnam is waaaaaay beyond my expectations, in a good way.... :)

Here is my short recap of my vacay

DAY 1
Tuesday May 31st 2011
Belum2 Vietnam had already surprised me, because the airport is somewhat nice! LOT BETTER daripada Adi Sutjipto & for me juga lebih bagus daripada Soetta. Good 1st impression. Hmmm
airport, gimana? you decide ._.

Karena udah malem, jadi kita langsung makan malem aja, yang harus dicoba if you come to vietnam is PHO which is basically vietnamese noodle soup. It is SO GOOD! I love it and we ate pho almost everyday and didnt get bored! Selama di sana kita makan di Pho 24, which is a franchise restaurant (jd di jakarta ada kok, di Grand Indonesia), which is kata orang vietnam itu mahal tapi the plus point is, the staff speaks english and the menu is also in english, so you dont have to worry about eating pork by accident (for me at least). Harga sekitar 30000an vnd yg kalo di rupiahin sekitar Rp 15000 (btw rupiah cukup kuat di viet, so the price for everything is considerably cheap! exciting!).
Pho Bo (Pho sapi)

caramel pudding

Kenapa ada caramel pudding? karena vietnam dijajah perancis jadi they are used to desserts and pastries, jadi ngga heran kalo di pinggir2 jalan lihat orang jualan baguette (roti perancis) di gerobak2 kayak di Indonesia jualan bakso gitu.
Oh and funny thing to notice is that HCMC (and basically the whole Vietnam) people use motorcycle as their primary transportation. So with the term primary what I wanted to say is that MOTORCYCLE IS EVERYWHERE! Mereka super banyak dan super ngawur. So be careful when youre crossing the road. Lucunya lagi, meski motor itu umum banget, tapi mereka ngga biasa pake helm standar (helm SNI) yang kayak di indonesia, semua orang pake helm ciduk (you knowlah the shape kayak gimana) jadi lucu (dan serem) juga ngeliatnya. Worse than helm ciduk mereka juga banyak yang pake helm topi. Yep helm topi........
helm ciduk lucu lucu

helm topi nike. haha

DAY 2
Wednesday June 1st 2011
Places that me and my sister visited are Benh Tanh Market which is the biggest market in HCMC hampir sama kayak chatuchak market di Bangkok tapi much smaller. You could buy cheap souvenirs, tshirts etc...
After Benh Tanh we went to Nguyen Du Park, its the biggest park in HCMC, the park is very pretty, lotss of big trees, ada gym equipments for people to use, playground.... Something that I really wish Jogja could have, a nice and safe park. Where everybody from young and old could enjoy, I always love parks, because I enjoy people watching and seeing the activities that people do... Ayo dong jogja :s
Nguyen Du park, look closely ada kakek nenek latihan dansa. Awww :")

Adek dan gym equipment

Next next next.... Sorenya us 3 (+ my mom) went to the Water Puppet show which is located near the Nguyen Du Park. I found the place from the TripAdvisor.com and decided to give the show a try. It was very cute! So they used puppets in the water surface, and the puppet masters where behind the curtain to move the puppets, I cant really describe, but it was worth seeing. Cuma sayangnya the show narration is entirely in Vietnamese so I couldnt really understand the plot, but it was cute nevertheless... And ticket price is 120.000 vnd or Rp 60000.

Malemnya kita pergi ke daerah Le Loi, yg merupakan shopping district gitu, ramee banget, dan banyak gedung2 yang arsitekturnya bagus, if you want cheap souvenir shopping you can find it here or if you opted for branded items shopping you also can find it here... Dari Marc, Chanel, Banana Republic etc etc, malah Louis Vuitton storenya denger2 paling gede se ASEAN gitu... Tapi ya kita ngga berani masuk hehe. Funny thing of the day is saat makan di KFC, we know that Vietnamese are very healthy people, they eat vegetables a lot, dan ngga banyak makan goreng2an, jadi ngga heran sih orang sana langsing2... Haha. Super LOL
Paket nasi KFC + lalapan

DAY 3
Thursday June 2nd 2011
Tau kan ya Vietnam kan perang sama Amerika selama 19 tahun... And I can easily say that this was the highlight of our trip! How many mothers out there who wait in uncertainty for their sons or daughters to come back from the war? Banyak banget hal yang bisa direnungkan, and this museum is just so inspiring. I cant help but shed a few tears :''')
MUST VISIT banget pokoknya, and ticket price is super murah. Cuma 7500 rupiah saja
entrance

chinook used during war

yoohoo! Kung Fu Panda twoo!!

Basically abis ini we spend the day ke market untuk beli oleh-oleh dan ke Le Loi  & Dan Khoi Street lagi untuk beli some other things for ourselves. Oh, also check out their little boutiques owned by young local designers.

cute store

Ohhh and I also found an adorable cookie store called cookietalkie who made amayzing cookies just like these:

cool cookies

Official Post#1

Woooow hellooo!! Of course Im just helloing myself because nobody read this blog except MEEEEE! (okay this is sad). Well anywaaay, Im in my semester break. Which means I have 2 weeks OFF, which is VERY RARE, which is why Im extremely HAPPY for. Alhamdulillah :)

One thing interesting is that I just cut my hair. Short. The shortest I've ever been in my life (please exclude baby and toddler times). I used to have supeeeeeer long hair, and do high ponytails, now my hair is a good 5cm above my shoulders and I cant do ponytails anymore. Hehe. Weird actually, but it feels nice. No, its not that Im declaring that I look nice; but, change is nice. I remember I was afraid of changes. I was afraid to change not only my hair, but anything, the way I dressed, my interests, my peers.. Everything. Because I thought, when somebody changed, then people will judge. I respect criticism, but I dont like to be judged. Its frustrating and hard to accept.

So there was those times, when I was afraid to make even the tiniest change, because I dont like people look at me different. I was happy though, I thought I felt secure, comfortable with my self. but then, when I was asked to describe my self, I couldnt do it. Because the things I do, were not the things I like to do, but were the things I usually do and I thought I like it. When the truth actually is I know so little about other things around my self, because i was afraid so I never try them. So then, I changed a little bit, I tried things I never done before (believe me its not drugs, smoking or anything weirrd I promise), I make friends outside of my usual type of friends, and got myself more confidence to venture outside my comfort zone. It was nerve wrecking! But its fun actually, I get to know things better, and even more I know myself better.

But then reality hit me, there were moments when people talked stuff about me. "She's changed, she's different now... and yada yada". It was stressful, because you felt like you learned so much from the experience, but somehow people saw it differently. People saw it like I was turning bad or something.I tried to take the talking from two different perspective, yes I understood maybe some people were surprised, or afraid that I might gone too far, turning into a person 180 degrees different from what they know... But hey we're young, we grow and we mature into adults. And for me change is a chance to become wiser, to know your passion, to make better choices in the future and basically its a life-learning process. Sure, we all done stupid decisions, but we'll achieve more because we learned from it. The good or the bad things that you've been through its what makes up who you are today.

At the end of the day, I took people words as a guidance and remainder, but I dont let them judge or define me for something superficial. So go change! (for the better ofcourse). Dont worry, because no one knows you better than yourself :)

SOOOOO... enough nonsense talking. I am still verrry excited because of my 2 weeks off, its hard to imagine going back to campus right now. I LOVE my morning lazy time. Got up at around 8.30, read morning papers, watch weird music shows (Dahsyat and Inbox hoahaha), brunch (usually indomie), then maybe sleep for a llittle bit more ;) So im gonna enjoy this while it last :D

BYE!

p.s: Please someone help me design my stupid blog... :"(
